Support EBHO's Leadership Academy!
At EBHO, we believe that the people most affected by affordable housing policy should be at the forefront of the housing justice movement
We launched Leadership Academy in 2015, after hearing from resident organizers that they wanted to learn more about housing policy and organizing skills.
Your Impact
Leadership Academy is a free community program for affordable housing residents and staff covering the essential elements of being an effective affordable housing advocate, community organizer, and leader.
In order to continue offering this program to as many community members as possible, we need you!
Your gift will help us provide:
- Travel Stipends - to offset transportation-related barriers to participation
- Graduation Stipends - participants will receive a $200 stipend upon completion of the program
- Food - we provide lunch, snacks, and beverages for all participants
- Class supplies - binders, folders, printing, writing utensils, etc.
Our Graduates
Since Leadership Academy’s inception in 2015, EBHO has graduated over 100 affordable housing resident- and staff leaders.
Graduates of Leadership Academy have gone on to serve on local and state Boards and Commissions and draft policy that has been implemented statewide.
Many of our Leadership Academy alumni also participate in Residents United Network (RUN), a branch of Housing California that brings together people who live in or need affordable housing and who believe every Californian deserves a safe and stable place to call home. Through our partnership with RUN, Bay Area leaders have taken powerful action to make sure that our State Representatives vote for affordable housing.
Watch the special Lunch & Learn session that we hosted in January 2025 where we heard from EBHO Leadership Academy staff and participants about the program, how to apply, and how to further get involved in Resident Organizing.
